SUB/CONSCIOUS
Sub / Conscious is a series of quickly developed works, created in the moment without any preplanned thought. Working in a mode similar to the automatism of the Surrealists, Dina has allowed this series of work to become a creative exercise free of conscious control. There is a deterministic effort on Dina’s part to let go of any thoughts dictating what kind of paintings she should be making, and focusing instead on the pure emotions and desires she feels in the moment. If she feels like using a certain color or a specific composition, she does, allowing each work to be a tribute to the process of making. Sub / Conscious is a reconnection for Dina to the core of her practice.
